Hello!  I am so delighted you are here!  I am the Founder and Principal of Foray Consulting and I’ve been working with people in high-intensity environments for my entire professional journey.  I’ve worked with individuals, teams, and organizations to strengthen core competencies, (e.g., feedback, assertiveness, coaching), build the capacity to self-regulate and reflect, and ultimately increase resilience and be more effective in the things that matter to us.

Lore has it that I’m practical, sometimes funny, and my love of this work is contagious.  I am on a never-ending quest for aha moments – mine and yours. My niche is helping you develop resilience and build the skills and emotional resources necessary to thrive despite the discomfort inherent in growth and learning as well as the relentless cycles of change that we endlessly go through.

I completed a B.A. in Geography from Clark University and then served as an Agroforestry Peace Corps volunteer in rural Nicaragua. I got a M.A. in Applied Behavioral Sciences from Bastyr University with a focus on organization development, adult learning, leadership development, process and training design, meeting and retreat facilitation, coaching, and conflict transformation. I have worked with people at all levels of organizations and have myself served as a manager, trainer, executive director, board member, committee chair, volunteer and organization development consultant.

"Lauren's technical abilities are particularly sharp, but what sets her apart is that she's able to adjust her style so she can approach even the most resistant group members and extend invitations that get them to come and do the work."

~ Kirvil Skinnarland, Trustee, Maria Norbury Foundation

"Working with Lauren is transformational. I hired Lauren to provide resiliency workshops for teams of care providers at Seattle Children's Hospital. Care providers included mental health providers, pastoral care, patient and family relations specialists, nurses from ICU and oncology units, interpreters and social workers. The workshops began the process of healing secondary trauma on the individual, team, and organizational levels. Many teams who have attended have begun to shift their conversations from areas of pain, difficulty and strife to ones of compassion satisfaction, joy, possibility, and choice. Lauren's invitation to accept responsibility for how we are in the world, the way we bring ourselves to our work, the wholeness of our experience and the meaning we make is authentic and gentle, yet compelling. Healthcare would be a much healthier system if these workshops were offered regularly to all care providers and support staff. I can't recommend Lauren highly enough!"
